Eligibility

To keep this service available for people who need it most, we ask all visitors to:

  • Bring a current Centrelink Income Statement and formal photo identification, such as a passport, drivers lisense, on your first visit
  • Provide an updated Centrelink Income Statement once a month showing you receive under $1,000 dollars per fortnight in financial support

If you need help accessing or printing your Income Statement, our team can explain how to get one before your next visit.

What you can access
Each visit includes:

  • One load of washing
  • One load of drying
  • Laundry detergent provided
  • A clean, private space to wash clothes safely
  • Support from staff or volunteers if you need guidance

You stay in control of your belongings at all times. Staff and security will not handle your clothes.

How it works

  • Check in with staff or security on arrival
  • You will receive a washing tablet and a number tag matching your machine
  • Load your clothes, place the tablet in the drum and press Start
  • When the wash finishes, move items to the dryer
  • Stay nearby while your washing and drying cycles run. You are welcome to visit Oakdene Kitchen, about 100 metres away, for a hot lunch while you wait, as long as you return in time to move or collect your clothes.
  • Return your number tag once finished

If the machines are full, we may need to pause entry until one becomes available.

Behaviour expectations
For everyone’s safety:

  • Aggressive or abusive behaviour is not accepted
  • Staff may refuse entry if safety guidelines are not followed
